The D9054 Advanced Video Coding (AVC) Encoder from Cisco is ideal for operators who wish to compress HD video using MPEG-4 compression technology. It can be used by cable, satellite, and telecom video operators, broadcasters, and service providers, as it provides maximum bandwidth efficiency for HD in both 1080i and 720p resolutions.
The D9054 now offers support for Dolby® E decoding and Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC-3) encoding, in addition to Dolby Digital encoding and the variety of other audio formats it currently supports. Processing for Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby E is handled by a Dolby Cat. No. 561 OEM module. The D9054 can encode programs in two-channel or full 5.1-channel Dolby Digital Plus or Dolby Digital formats. Pass-through of pre-encoded Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Digital bitstreams is also supported.
