Kevin Yeaman, President and Chief Executive Officer
Kevin Yeaman became Dolby’s President and Chief Executive Officer in 2009. Now he is leading the company through a global industry transition that includes the build-out of high-definition broadcast and the explosive growth of connected devices including smartphones, tablets, and connected TVs—as well as content delivered over IP networks.
Kevin has been an important leader in virtually every aspect of Dolby’s business, including setting the company’s strategic direction, expanding into new digital entertainment markets, and improving operations. Kevin joined Dolby in 2005 as Chief Financial Officer, completing the company’s initial public offering and building the financial infrastructure to support company growth and expansion into new markets. As CFO, Kevin helped close and integrate key acquisitions that were instrumental in expanding Dolby’s portfolio of technologies into broader audio applications and new video opportunities.
Prior to coming to Dolby, Kevin spent seven years at E.piphany, an enterprise software company. As CFO, he guided that company through its early stages as a technology start-up. Before E.piphany, Kevin was with Informix Software, Inc. (now part of IBM) as Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations, supporting the company’s sales organization.
Previously, he managed audit services, mergers and acquisitions, and initial public offerings for both high technology start-up companies as well as multibillion-dollar corporations in Silicon Valley and London while at KPMG LLP. Kevin holds a BS degree in commerce from Santa Clara University. He is on the Board of Trustees for SFJazz.
Mike Bergeron, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Field Operations
As Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Field Operations, Mike Bergeron is leading the Dolby sales organization into the next stage of growth as it launches transformational Dolby® cinema, broadcast, online media, and image technologies.
Mike’s sales leadership spans more than 25 years. He previously held the position of Vice President, Worldwide OEM and Education Sales at Adobe Systems, where he was responsible for $800 million in revenue. Prior to that, he was responsible for starting and building the Adobe mobile business field sales and business development teams, whose work resulted in more than one billion deployments of Adobe® Flash® across devices of all kinds, including mobile phones, consumer and gaming devices, and consumer electronics, in partnership with both automotive and global mobile operators.
Prior to his work at Adobe, Mike held a variety of executive leadership roles in sales and business development, including cofounder of Elemental Software and Senior Vice President of Corporate Business Development for Macromedia.
Mike holds a BS degree in business and marketing from Indiana University.
Lewis Chew, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Dolby Laboratories, Lewis Chew leads the worldwide finance organization, responsible for financial and infrastructure support for Dolby’s business, including all finance functions, information technology, real estate and facilities, manufacturing, procurement, and investor relations.
Lewis comes to Dolby with decades of financial and strategic business management experience. He is the former Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of National Semiconductor Corporation, where he was responsible for all finance functions as well as information systems and investor relations.
Prior to joining National Semiconductor, Lewis was a partner at KPMG LLP, serving numerous technology and financial institution clients. He has been recognized five times as one of America’s best CFOs by Institutional Investor magazine in its annual ranking. In 2009, Lewis was a finalist for the Bay Area CFO of the Year Award, and in 2002, Treasury & Risk magazine named him one of the nation’s top 40 finance executives under the age of 40.
Lewis serves as a member of the board of directors at PG&E Corporation, an energy-based holding company. He holds a BS degree in accounting from Santa Clara University.
Doug Darrow, Senior Vice President, Cinema Business Group
As Senior Vice President, Cinema Business Group, Doug Darrow is responsible for aligning Dolby's technical expertise and close relationships with content creators, studios, and exhibitors to deliver artistic and business solutions via audio and video technologies.
The Cinema Business Group comprises all parts of Dolby's businesses that support the entertainment industry, including Dolby Atmos™ products, Dolby Screen Server and Dolby Integrated Media Block (IMB) products, audio processors, the Dolby 3D cinema solution, the Dolby Professional Reference Monitor product line, and all Dolby TrueHD licensing and other high-end home theater offerings.
Doug is a respected industry leader with a proven record for developing and commercializing technologies that revolutionize entertainment. Before joining Dolby, he helped start-ups and established companies such as Texas Instruments bring groundbreaking solutions to market. Doug is widely regarded as a pioneer in digital cinema, recognized by the industry for his role in the wide-scale deployment of digital cinema projectors and 3D digital cinema presentation. Since the first digital cinema release of Star Wars: Episode I—The Phantom Menace, more than 70,000 theatres worldwide have adopted digital cinema.
Doug has an undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester and holds an MBA degree from the University of Dallas.
Andrew Dahlkemper, Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Andrew joined Dolby Laboratories in January 2009. As Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Andrew is responsible for leading and executing Dolby’s human resources programs, practices, and operations worldwide.
Before taking this role at Dolby Laboratories, Andrew served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources at BEA Systems, where he was responsible for leading the HR function for the company with 4,100 employees in 38 countries. Prior to BEA, Andrew was the Vice President of HR Operations and then Vice President of International HR for Electronic Arts, where he lived and worked in Geneva, Switzerland. Andrew also held human resource management positions with Citibank, the Frito-Lay division of PepsiCo, and Johnson & Johnson.
Andrew holds a BA degree in communications from Gannon University.
Michael Rockwell, Executive Vice President, Advanced Technology Group
In his role as Executive Vice President, Advanced Technology Group, Mike Rockwell oversees Dolby’s focus on invention of new technology and incubation of new businesses.
Mike previously served as Executive Vice President, Products and Technology, responsible for the company’s technology and product development. With Mike’s leadership, Dolby has pioneered innovations in sound quality in the cinema, in the home, in mobile and portable devices, and beyond; and he has broken new ground with state-of-the-art color display technology.
Before joining Dolby, Mike was Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Avid Technology, Inc., where he was responsible for the technical strategy across the entire Avid® product line. Prior to his appointment as CTO, Mike served as Chief Architect of Software Engineering at Digidesign, which was acquired by Avid’s audio division. While at Digidesign, he served as the technical lead for its flagship product, Pro Tools.
Before Digidesign, Mike was the president and owner of a software business and audio/visual production company, Rockwell Digital. Early in his career as a freelance recording engineer, Mike worked on projects such as The Wonder Years, Cadillac Man, and Cocktail.
Andy Sherman, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
As Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Andy Sherman oversees Dolby’s worldwide legal affairs, including all corporate, regulatory, intellectual property, litigation, and licensing activities.
Prior to joining Dolby, Andy served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at CBS Interactive, where he led the legal group advising CBS’s online entertainment, mobile, technology, sports, news, games, lifestyle, and international business units. Andy joined CBS Interactive following CBS’s acquisition of CNET Networks, where he was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, responsible for global legal and regulatory matters. In senior legal positions at Sybase, PeopleSoft, and Epiphany, Andy oversaw legal aspects of US and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic transactions, and other matters.
Earlier in his career, Andy worked in private practice with Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich (now DLA Piper), specializing in the representation of emerging technology companies in intellectual property and technology-related legal matters. Andy holds a JD from the University of the Pacific, as well as a BS degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.
