Dolby and Berlinale celebrate their 10th anniversary of cooperation
From February 7 to 17, the Berlin International Film Festival, the Berlinale, will again strive for record visitor numbers and bring glamour to Germany’s capital.
With around 300,000 tickets sold and almost 20,000 professional visitors from 130 countries—including close to 4,000 journalists—art, glamour, parties, and business are all inseparably linked at the Berlinale. Dolby® has been part of this prominent, world-class film festival for the last ten years, providing equipment and expertise and supporting Berlinale to deliver a superior festival experience.
This year Dolby will again provide Dolby sound equipment and Dolby 3D Cinema equipment along with engineering support to ensure the highest-quality audio and visuals for the Berlinale. Dolby will also once again support the Berlinale Talent Campus, a six-day creative summit for up-and-coming filmmakers. The Berlinale Talent Campus will be hosting a workshop in a sound studio equipped with Dolby Atmos™, Dolby's powerful and dramatic new cinema-sound experience.
In addition, Dolby is proud to present the first Dolby Atmos theatre in Berlin—the Cinestar 7, at Potsdamer Platz. Dolby Atmos is the latest sound technology from Dolby Laboratories, and brings a powerful new listening experience with more natural, realistic cinema sound that truly envelops the audience.
Dolby will be hosting and cohosting the following events:
