Dolby Media Encoder Server
The Dolby® Media Encoder Server is designed for multiple users over a network in larger postproduction facilities. It includes the same encoding capabilities as Dolby Media Encoder Standalone, providing professional non-real-time encoding for:
Dolby Digital Plus
Advanced 96k upsampling option for Dolby TrueHD
The encoder also offers powerful mastering features with comprehensive project and file-management capabilities.
It can encode standard audio source files in any or all of the supported Dolby formats. The encoder:
Works with existing timecode
Permits embedding of new, user-defined timecode
Generates metadata for all selected formats
Allows preview playback of source and encoded files
Updates previously encoded Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus files
Additionally, Dolby Digital Plus secondary audio encoding supports the importing of AAF files for embedding dynamic mix metadata.
Powerful Networking Features
The server edition includes Dolby Media Encoder Clients that enable multiple operators to set up and submit jobs over a network to a centralized server. The intuitive Mac OS® X interface simplifies preparation of encoding jobs through the local clients. Administrative control includes the ability to view job status and to schedule jobs. Users can view the encoder status over a standard browser from any networked computer within a facility.
