FutureWorks secures Dolby Professional Reference Monitor Units
Dolby Laboratories India today announced that FutureWorks Media Limited, India's leading post production service provider, has purchased multiple units of Dolby PRM-4200 Professional Reference Monitor which provides filmmakers with the new standard for displays that facilitate production workflow while delivering a full dynamic range, high contrast ratio, and wide color gamut.
Talking about this collaboration, Pankaj Kedia, Country Manager, Dolby Laboratories India said, "Dolby is passionate about creating products that push the state of the art in allowing the creative community to realize their artistic vision." He further added, "We are incredibly pleased that our efforts to create an extremely accurate monitor have resulted in FutureWorks choosing Dolby for its color critical postproduction workflow." The Dolby PRM-4200 Professional Reference Monitor is the most accurate display for creating any type of entertainment content. It enables the creative process for colorists and cinematographers by ensuring that the final image will reflect exactly what they see on the display. The most accurate color-correction monitor available, it displays the full dynamic range that the latest advanced digital cameras can capture. As a color-grading monitor, the Dolby Professional Reference Monitor uses 3D LUTs to emulate the full gamut and contrast ratio of film, as well as the color profile of digital cameras. This makes DCI P3 color grading possible without the use of a digital projector.
"FutureWorks is committed to providing the highest-quality postproduction services for the content creation community by offering the most advanced and innovative solutions from industry leaders like Dolby" said Gaurav Gupta, CEO, FutureWorks Media. He further added, "The Dolby Professional Reference Monitor allows us to help content creators realize their artistic vision with the confidence of the highest level of color accuracy available today. It elevates the content, making it look incredibly sharp and realistic."
Dolby Laboratories recently announced that the Dolby Professional Reference Monitor has added support for content shot at a rate of 48 frames per second (fps). It already supports 60 fps, and expanded support for 48 fps is part of a set of new features that enhance the content-creation process and reduce the cost of ownership involved in postproduction. Also recently introduced, is an iPad application for remote control of the monitor. Every Dolby Professional Reference Monitor comes with three years of software maintenance.
