Dolby Program Optimizer DP600
Dolby Program Optimizer DP600: Configurations and Supported Media File Types
Two configurations of the Dolby® DP600 are available. Both versions provide automatic file-based loudness analysis and correction of the dialnorm and dynamic range control metadata parameters in Dolby E, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Pulse bitstreams, and intelligent and automatic speech-based loudness normalization for PCM, MPEG-1 LII, AAC, and HE AAC v.2 audio files. An optional software upgrade for intelligent file-based upmixing is also available for each configuration.

Upmixing Upgrade Option
An optional software upgrade adds file-based program upmixing functionality for the DP600 and DP600-C.
This newly developed algorithm is specifically designed for upmixing broadcast programs from two channels to five or 5.1 channels. (Note: Mono to stereo or mono to 5.1 channels is not supported.)
The algorithm also ensures downmix compatibility so that listeners of two-channel content are not subjected to the typical artifacts found with other upmixing solutions.
The upmix process can be adaptively integrated in combination with DP600 loudness correction, encoding, decoding, conversion, or transcoding to streamline work flows.
