Live Sound Technologies

Dolby® live sound technologies provide exceptional solutions for equalizing, limiting, converting, managing, and displaying sound. Combining the following solutions, our products provide you with an unparalleled tool set for handling even the most complex systems.

Raised Cosine Equalization

Raised cosine filters offer improved selectivity in comparison to traditionally implemented equalization functions, while also maintaining beneficial attributes such as a minimum phase response. The raised cosine filter also enables flat summation and asymmetrical filtering characteristics, resulting in an equalization system offering capability beyond traditional filter implementations.

LimiterMax Loudspeaker Protection System

The LimiterMax™ loudspeaker protection system introduces a sophisticated limiting system with simple, intuitive controls that make protecting your system easy while still maintaining great sound, even under heavy limiting conditions. If the system is configured correctly for your amplifier/loudspeaker combination, you simply can’t clip the amplifier, even if the input is driven into overload.

Linear Phase Crossovers

The Dolby Lake® Processor and Lake Contour™ offer linear phase crossovers that provide significant advantages in comparison to other crossovers available today in the professional audio industry. This technology enables improved performance from existing loudspeaker systems. The Dolby Lake Controller software user interface provides simple, intuitive controls for making adjustment to this highly sophisticated signal processing system.

Iso-Float Ground Isolation System

The Iso-Float™ technology combines the benefits of transformer-coupled isolation with the advantages of clean, direct-coupled inputs and outputs. Iso-Float provides a unique, cost-effective, and audibly superior alternative to isolation transformers for avoiding ground loops in audio systems. While isolation transformers are typically an expensive option for many processors, Iso-Float is standard on all converter cards for the Dolby Lake Processor.
