Getting Licensed

We want to help your company succeed. Our licensing process supports Dolby’s quality standards, protecting the integrity of both your products and the technology itself. The process also begins your ongoing partnership with Dolby. Once you’ve completed your application and become an Approved Licensee, you will have a dedicated support contact at Dolby. You’ll also have access to our secure extranet, where you’ll find complete technical information and support, as well as Dolby® logo artwork to use on your product.

Step 1	Fill out the online form, and Dolby will send you an application to license Dolby technology.

Step 2	Complete the application and send it to Dolby for review and approval.

Step 3	Dolby will send contracts for your review and signature. Once the contracts are complete and the initial fee is received, you will receive the requested technology along with marketing, testing, and implementation tools, as well as other important information about working with Dolby.

Step 4	Submit your product to Dolby for testing to ensure that it meets Dolby’s quality standards. Upon approval, your company becomes an official Dolby Licensee and is added to the Dolby Licensee list.
