How to Use Dolby Logo Artwork

Dolby logos signify great sound the world over. Videos, games, and broadcasts that include the Dolby logo carry this brand image with them. To preserve the integrity of these logos, we require content creators and distributors to use Dolby logo artwork according to the general guidelines and industry-specific guidelines below.

Note: Use of Dolby® logos on prerecorded content, packaging, manuals, or program guides requires the completion of a Dolby Logo Use Agreement.

General Logo Use Guidelines

Logo Color

  • Dolby logos may be colored black, white, blue, gold, or silver. If your project calls for colors other than those listed, please contact us to request permission.
  • Use only one color over the entire logo.
  • Dolby logos must be set on a background that makes them easy to see.
  • The type portions of the Dolby logos must be clearly legible.
  • Use only artwork provided by Dolby Laboratories.

Logo Size and Placement

  • Your company logo should always be more prominent than Dolby logos. Do not use Dolby logos in a manner that suggests your product is developed by Dolby Laboratories, that the logo or trademark is part of your company name, or that your product contains Dolby technologies.
  • Always position Dolby logos alone and apart from other text and graphics, especially other trademarks and service marks.
  • Dolby logos should be the same relative size as the most prominent third-party trademark in your content and should be easily distinguished from other marks and logos. Using these guidelines ensures that consumers do not mistake another company’s advertised product or service as one provided by Dolby Laboratories.

Acknowledgements

  • When Dolby logos are used in advertising or other promotional material, their ownership must be acknowledged in the form of a footnote wherever possible using the following format:

Dolby and the double-D symbol are registered trademarks of Dolby Laboratories.

  • When other Dolby logos are used, the acknowledgement should include Dolby’s ownership as well.

Dolby and the double-D symbol are registered trademarks of Dolby Laboratories. MLP Lossless is a trademark of Dolby Laboratories.

  • Dolby logos should be the same relative size as the most prominent third-party trademark in your content and should be easily distinguished from other marks and logos. Using these guidelines ensures that consumers do not mistake another company’s advertised product or service as one provided by Dolby Laboratories.
