The Dolby® Digital Cinema system supports both JPEG 2000 and MPEG-2 file formats. The system offers superb picture quality, simplified operation, and outstanding reliability, plus the highest level of security in the business. To make sure your transition to digital runs smoothly, the system meets Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) recommendations and integrates easily with your existing automation and sound systems.

The Dolby Digital Cinema system has been engineered from the ground up for real-world projection booths. It is reliable, built to last, and has the flexibility to adapt to meet your needs in the years to come. It has been created with the same foresight and approach to quality that we have always used for our cinema audio processors, many of which have outlived the cinemas that originally housed them.
At the core of our system are the Dolby Show Store and Dolby Show Player units, which together provide everything you need to load, store, decode, and deliver pristine digital movies to your digital cinema projector. The accompanying Dolby Show Manager software application provides complete operational control too, and enables you to perform advanced scheduling either locally or remotely.
In addition to digital cinema equipment, we offer complete digital mastering and distribution services, including a hotline service for troubleshooting.

The projection booth environment is unique. The Dolby Digital Cinema presentation system was created specifically for this environment to provide features that deliver perfect digital shows, time after time. This means clear controls for your projectionist, powerful scheduling for your manager, and robust engineering that makes sense to your technicians.
The system's modularity allows you to install Dolby Show Player where it's most convenient to operate. Separating the storage and decoding components also lets you expand and upgrade specific capabilities without having to replace the complete system.
Meets Key DCI Specifications
The Dolby Digital Cinema system includes support for the JPEG 2000 playback format, as specified by DCI, and also supports MPEG-2 for compatibility with alternative content, such as preshow advertising. The system is the first digital cinema server to achieve FIPS Level 3 certification, ensuring the highest level of antipiracy protection as specified by DCI. The Dolby Digital Cinema system also meets other key DCI specifications for data rate and storage capacity. We engineered the Dolby Digital Cinema system to accommodate evolving standards, thereby protecting your investment.

Dolby Laboratories wants to make digital cinema distribution as straightforward as 35 mm film distribution. Acting as a technical agent for our clients, we will follow the content from start to the finish, providing the compression mastering and distribution media preparation, distribution and verification services, and a hotline service for post-load troubleshooting, at any site with any projector/server combination.
