Mars in 3D on Blu-ray Details
The Viking mission was written in history as one of the United States’ most important space achievements since the Apollo moon landings.
Following the completion of the mission, 3D imagery from the orbiters and landers was transformed into a stereoscopic dual-16 mm film by the late Dr. Elliott Levinthal of Stanford University, a member of the Viking imaging team.
The innovative musical soundtrack was composed and created at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University, under the direction of John Chowning, by composers Michael McNabb and William Schottstaedt.
