The Dolby® Datarate Estimator helps users determine in advance how much value-added material, such as director’s commentary and alternate languages, they can place on a Blu-ray Disc™ along with the Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital soundtracks.
These highly accurate estimates provide a powerful advantage to a project manager or authoring group member who needs to determine the bit budget for a Blu-ray Disc before the actual encoding.

The nontechnical interface requires minimal training and simplifies use of the estimator. The Dolby Datarate Estimator is available for both PC and Mac® platforms, and it runs locally on a single computer workstation.
