The encoder also offers powerful mastering features with comprehensive project- and file-management capabilities.

It can encode standard audio source files in any or all of the supported Dolby formats. The encoder:

Works with existing timecode

Permits embedding of new, user-defined timecode

Generates metadata for all selected formats

Allows preview playback of source and encoded files

Updates previously encoded Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus files

Additionally, Dolby Digital Plus secondary audio encoding supports the importing of AAF files for embedding dynamic mix metadata.

Powerful Networking Features

The server edition includes Dolby Media Encoder Clients that enable multiple operators to set up and submit jobs over a network to a centralized server. The intuitive Mac OS® X interface simplifies preparation of encoding jobs through the local clients. Administrative control includes the ability to view job status and to schedule jobs. Users can view the encoder status over a standard browser from any networked computer within a facility.
