• Dolby Cares

  • Discover how Dolby and our employees bring art and science together to inspire the next generation of innovators and address the most critical needs in the communities we call home.

  • Employees in Sydney, Australia prepared meals from various cultures for asylum seekers and refugees.

  • Dolby employees are our greatest asset and are at the heart of our community efforts. Employees volunteer as individuals, as work teams, or as part of one of our eight diversity and inclusion employee network groups. From tutoring children and mentoring adults reentering the workforce to delivering meals to seniors or providing legal services through our legal pro-bono program, our employees are making our communities stronger. While our volunteer work is year-round, nearly 1,000 Dolby employees donate their time at our annual Dolby Cares Day, which takes place in 20 Dolby communities in 12 countries each spring.

  • Our Focus Areas

Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators

  • Girls Who Code participants collaborate on a design-thinking exercise at Dolby’s headquarters.

  • We believe that a diversity of experiences, ideas, and approaches leads to the greatest innovations for storytelling in the cinema, on the go, at work, and at home. Sharing Dolby's unique position at the intersection of science, technology, and art with future generations is at the heart of our educational efforts.

We partner with organizations like Girls Who Code, Women’s Audio Mission, Greene Scholars, the California  Arts, Media & Entertainment Academy Program, and Bay Area Video Coalition in the U.S., Women on the Move in France, and the New South Wales Women in Engineering summer camp for teens in Australia. We strive to inspire the next generation of innovators by providing curriculum support and mentoring as well as educational field trips for hundreds of students from diverse backgrounds to meet Dolby employees, learn about our technologies, explore the workplace and future career opportunities.

  • Dolby supports local students with tutoring, enrichment programs, and graduate support services.

  • Storytelling is at the heart of Dolby, which means that listening to and addressing the stories and challenges of people in our local communities is critical. Through our Dolby Cares program, we help build a brighter future for people experiencing homelessness and other challenges, by providing basic necessities, job-readiness education, mentoring, and support with partners that include Downtown Streets Team, Code Tenderloin, St. Anthony’s, and Olive Crest in the U.S. and Wayside Chapel and St. Vincent de Paul in Australia.
