Dolby Audio Delivers a Knockout Punch with Electra Woman & Dyna Girl

  • The production team discusses the impact of Dolby Audio™ on Electra Woman & Dyna Girl.

    • The Dolby® Institute has partnered with Legendary Digital and Fullscreen to provide full 5.1 Dolby Audio and enhanced sound design to the digital web series Electra Woman & Dyna Girl.

A reimagining of a classic 1970s children's television show, Electra Woman & Dyna Girl provided the chance for immersive soundscapes with big action sequences. But the producers of the new show faced a big challenge: How could they execute a cinema-quality experience on a limited digital-web budget?

Part of the answer was to build in creative sound design and immersive mixing. The show's writer and director, Chris Marrs Piliero, explains, "You can create a moment for your audience and do it without having to show everything."

Support from a Dolby Institute grant allowed the show's creative team to add time for sound design and mixing, and to deliver the sound in the full 5.1 Dolby Audio format.

Check out this behind-the-scenes piece on how Dolby Audio makes Electra Woman & Dyna Girl sound as big as any movie out there, and experience the series at Fullscreen.
