Experience Only the Brave in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos

  • It's not what stands in front of you … it's who stands beside you. Only the Brave, based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, is the heroic story of one unit of local firefighters that through hope, determination, sacrifice, and the drive to protect families, communities, and our country become one of the most elite firefighting teams in the nation. As most of us run from danger, they run toward it — they watch over our lives, our homes, everything we hold dear, as they forge a unique brotherhood that comes into focus with one fateful fire.

  • Director Joseph Kosinski describes how Dolby technologies help bring the story of these heroes to life.

On June 28, 2013, lightning started a wildfire near Yarnell, Arizona. The blaze quickly scorched more than 8,300 acres and became one of the deadliest fires in the United States since the 9/11 attacks.

Only the Brave is a riveting and moving tribute to the 19 courageous real-life heroes who helped contain the fire. The all-star cast includes Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges, and James Badge Dale, with Taylor Kitsch and Jennifer Connelly.

The film's director, Joseph Kosinski, says: "I feel like going to the movies should be a really special experience. You should be pulled into the world that the director is creating. ... Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos allows it to be a more immersive experience."

From scenes filled with raging fires to quieter, more dramatic moments between the men and their families, the story is made even more powerful and immersive in Dolby Vision™ and Dolby Atmos®.

In Kosinski's words, "Dolby Cinema makes moviegoing an event — something special, something unforgettable. ... I feel very grateful to be able to bring the story of these guys to the big screen."
