    • Responsible for more than 44,000 members in an area from Silicon Valley to the Oregon border, the leadership team at Girl Scouts of Northern California knows that effective communication is essential.

"Our need for video conferencing was driven by our remote locations and the staff that we have spread across most of Northern California," says CIO Glenn Rogers.

With collaboration in mind, the organization chose Highfive with Dolby Voice® as its video conferencing solution. Highfive delivers a high-quality video call experience, with Dolby Voice providing unsurpassed audio to participants, whether they're in the physical meeting room using the Dolby Conference Phone, joining from home, or calling while on the road.

Marina Park, the organization's CEO, says, "[It's] saving us time and it's saving us money to be able to use video conferencing as a good alternative to in-person meetings."

This innovative device improves productivity by letting in-room and remote meeting attendees participate as if they're all in the same room.

  • "Video adds another dimension to a meeting … when you're face to face with people, you're engaged, you're present. And the Dolby Conference Phones really added a rich dimension to the audio. It's much easier to hear the speakers in those settings with those Dolby Conference Phones."

    • Easy-to-Use Tools for Better Collaboration

Karin Richey, the organization's e-learning developer, uses the tools extensively for remote collaboration and online training: "The first time that I used Highfive and realized all you had to do was type in the name of a meeting and then you're in, … seeing everything and hearing everything instantly, I was really pleased. It's as user friendly and easy to use as I could possibly imagine."

"The thing I'm really impressed with," says Michele Carlsen, Director of Membership Development, "is the natural conversation. And [it's] easy to identify who's speaking."

CIO Rogers agrees: "Video adds another dimension to a meeting … when you're face to face with people, you're engaged, you're present. And the Dolby Conference Phones really added a rich dimension to the audio. It's much easier to hear the speakers in those settings with those Dolby Conference Phones."

    • Beyond Business

The organization's leadership is bringing video conferencing to Camp CEO, a three-day event for 70 high-school-aged Girl Scouts who meet for mentoring, leadership training, and recreation in Marin County, California.

"We're really excited this year," says CEO Marina Park, "to be partnering with Highfive and Dolby Voice to bring to the girls at Camp CEO a video conferencing experience." These scouts will meet with executive women mentors from across the San Francisco Bay Area, who can join the camp meeting from any location in the world.

Video conferencing helps the mentors manage their time more effectively, without traveling. And the young leaders will "be able to meet more mentors than ever before and have conversations with women that they otherwise might not be able to meet."

CEO Park adds: "And also, we really want them to … get a taste of what the business world is like, and today the business world is about using new tools to connect with each other."
