Aisha (Anna Diop) has recently moved from Senegal to New York City where she lands a job looking after the daughter of an affluent couple (Michelle Monaghan and Morgan Spector). Tormented by the young son she had to leave behind, Aisha hopes her new job will allow her to bring him to the U.S. but becomes increasingly concerned as the family’s idyllic home life begins to take a violent turn. As the date of her son’s arrival approaches, Aisha’s mind begins to fragment and the line between her dreams and reality begins to blur, threatening the new life she has worked so hard to build.

We talked a lot about character arc for the soundscape too. And, you know, there is a tendency to neglect sound in the conception stage. If you think about your soundscape as a character, then you can have an arc for that soundscape so that the audience doesn't become numb.
