Dolby PC audio drivers

Have you recently upgraded to Windows® 10 or another recent version of Microsoft Windows? Looking for audio drivers to reinstall Dolby Home Theater® v4 or Dolby Advanced Audio™ v2 on your computer?

You can find audio drivers by visiting the support section of your PC or tablet manufacturer's website. Every manufacturer's computer or tablet model is custom-tuned to deliver an optimized audio experience for the device and we don’t have access to all of those custom audio drivers. Please contact your device manufacturer to download the audio driver for your specific model.

Following is a list of a few top PC and tablet brands, with links to their website:

Dolby codecs

If you're looking to download a Dolby® codec, like AC-3, they're typically preinstalled in products. When that's not the case, a program supporting a Dolby codec is needed to play back content encoded with Dolby technologies over a music or movie player.

How do you know whether you already have the necessary playback software? If you bought your PC in a retail store, check to see whether the software is:

  • Preinstalled on your computer
  • Available on the installation disc that came with your computer

If the software isn't preinstalled, you'll need to purchase it from one of our partners. A few examples are CorelCyberLink, and Fluendo.

Having problems with your laptop or tablet?

Dolby creates and licenses audio technologies that are inside your devices, not the devices themselves. If a Dolby logo appears on your product or in the product's user manual, then the hardware manufacturer has licensed a Dolby technology. For example, computer manufacturers license Dolby Audio so that you can enjoy a surround sound experience with your laptop.

For help with your device, please contact your retailer or the product manufacturer. You can find contact information for the manufacturer in your owner's manual or on the company's website.
