Cam'ron

Born and raised in Harlem, Cam’ron epitomizes the unmatched entrepreneurial spirit of the neighborhood between the 110th and 155th blocks of Upper Manhattan, having successfully tackled with finesse the roles of hip-hop artist, director, actor, screenwriter, designer, and entrepreneur. He is the de facto leader and founding member of The Diplomats, arguably one of the most influential crews in hip-hop. Cam’ron paid his dues on the underground before forming the influential group The Diplomats, a collective that single-handedly shaped the swagger of an entire generation of rap. His 2002 Def Jam debut Come Home With Me went Platinum off the strength of singles like “Oh Boy.” Its follow up, Purple Haze, is highly regarded by critics and fans as some of his finest work. Cam’ron is the perfect example of an artist who has capitalized on his potential, rising to the occasion when it comes to being an icon—in front of, and behind the mic.
