J.K. Rowling's latest story of wizardry and dark forces comes to life in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
Director David Yates discusses the impact of Dolby technologies on his latest film.
Englishman Newt Scamander arrives in New York City in 1926 with a suitcase full of magical creatures, and he soon loses sight of the suitcase. The confined beasts escape, and strange things begin to happen.
"It was like a ghost," says an eyewitness as he stands inside what's left of a building on a city street. "I saw its eyes, shining white eyes, and it dove down underground."
In this prequel to the Harry Potter series, best-selling author J.K. Rowling worked with director David Yates to bring her writing talents directly to the screen. In Rowling's tale, wizard and magizoologist Scamander must team up with others to harness the power of the fantastic beasts—and avoid being restrained by Percival Graves and his shadowy forces.
J.K. Rowling's latest screenplay comes to the big screen in "a visual feast."
Actor Eddie Redmayne, who plays Scamander, says that seeing the movie in the best cinema you can find is a must: "The better the cinema, the better the sound that you can see it in, I think, it is a dimensional experience." His colleague Katherine Waterston agrees: "There is something about being in a collective space with an audience with a film like this that is such a visual feast."
Watch the movie that Variety calls an "imagination-tickling fantasy adventure" in a Dolby Cinema™ location near you. You'll hear every rumble in Dolby Atmos® as creatures wreak havoc on cobblestoned streets, and you'll experience fiery explosions in Dolby Vision™.
